As you know from previous posts, Evan was a bunny this year for Halloween. Becoming a bunny doesn't just happen, though -- there is a process involved. First, obviously, you have to put on the costume:
Then you need to add the whiskers and nose:
You've got to make sure for yourself it all looks right:
And finally, you've got to add the hat:
(My timing was a bit off with this shot, but Evan is either coming into or out of a smile, not a grimace.)
So that's Evan. Alex was going to be a teddy bear (you may remember our teddy bear costume from Halloweens past), but it turns out he's not nearly big enough yet to fill out the costume. Instead he went as a baby. Here's the family part way through making the rounds at the neighbors' houses:
We thought we'd bring the dog along with us instead of leaving her home alone to bark at passing kids, but I think in retrospect that was a mistake. She still barked at the passing kids, only this way she was even closer to them, and possibly more freaked out since she could see their fairy, princess, monster, and superhero costumes. We'll figure out some better arrangement next year.
Anyway, here's one final shot of Steph and the boys decompressing after an evening of trick or treating for good measure:
